Sunshine and Caffeine.

rosetta.jpg

It is a beautiful day today.

I just spent two hours down at my favourite cafe, imbibing large amounts of exquisite caffeine while doing uni readings and research in the sun. In shorts and a t-shirt.

My senses are piqued.

My heart is pumping caffeine throughout my system. I’m more aware, can feel the slightest breeze, colours are brighter.

Feeling great.

Thank god for coffee. Thank god for sunshine.

Thank god for good days.

You know that picture of the coffee there with that pattern/shape thingo on top of it? Do you tip the guy that makes it? If so, how much do you give? Or do you do that, “Well I didn’t want it so why should I give it to them?” attitude?

I have never experienced that so what do I do when it happens?

NZ doesn’t really have a tipping culture, so no. There is a tip jar at the cafe which is destined for the “sumatran coffee dudes.” Usually a compliment on the quality of the coffee is enough thanks :)

In the States though, I dunno. Waiterrant.net covers coffee shop tipping here - might help clarify things for you a bit.
